A Premier Institute of the Building Profession

GICEA was established in 1947 and today stands as a unique professional organisation of civil engineers & architects, functioning as a non-government organisation registered under charitable trust & society. GICEA has a membership of more than 5,200 professionals comprising civil engineers, architects, interior designers, urban planners, builders, developers, valuers, structural engineers and contractors — whether employed or self-employed.

Always striving for professional ethics as well as the continuing upgradation of members’ technical knowledge, GICEA has over the decades gained a reputation and status wherein, before enacting policy frameworks affecting development, authorities earnestly seek the Institute’s views and opinions. GICEA provides a regular forum to interact and enrich knowledge and experience in civil engineering through its professional activities, enlightens society regarding the profession through its educational activities, and acts as an apex body to interact and collaborate with similar institutes across the state.
