Why the Institute was founded, and what it exists to do for the profession, its members and the public.

Core Objectives

The Institute was established with an aim of bringing engineers, architects and those connected with the building industry under one forum — to develop a code of ethics amongst professionals, to safeguard the interest of society, to disseminate information on the latest developments in materials, construction and equipment, and to keep members informed of the various developments in the city and the state.

Our Mandate

The Broad Objectives of GICEA

Provide facilities in civil engineering & architecture, including its allied branches, for further study, research and mutual consultation and interaction.

Arrange periodic lectures, discourses, demonstrations, exhibitions, conferences, seminars and other activities to impart specialised knowledge of the field.

Make provision for imparting instruction and developments in civil engineering and allied subjects to those who require it.

Publish magazines, periodicals and technical papers, and initiate or collaborate on activity in the common interest of the fraternity of civil engineers & architects.

Maintain constructive liaison with all authorities and the construction industry.

Research and document heritage projects, historic maps and legendary personalities of the profession.

Act and help citizens at large through public-cause activities such as “Save Water”, “Grow More Trees”, construction of check-dams, and similar initiatives.
